Qatar is nowadays one of the most notorious countries in the world. Everything seems to be brand new, modern, top-notch and luxurious. However, the country has a strong Arab tradition and culture and many of these features are shown in what today is the outstanding profile of its capital city, Doha. Famous for having hosted the 2022 World Cup, the event was a unique opportunity to show itself to the world.
Everybody knows that architecture and heritage are my favourite focus at the moment. That is why when a short time ago I knew about Maram Alzghol I felt I was extremely lucky because she is a beautiful and glamorous multitask young architect .
I immediately contacted her and she was very willing to share her activities and her views of her country with our readers.
- Why have you chosen the architecture engineer career ? Tell us about your work which includes being the owner of decor and home and garden shops.
I studied architecture because I was very interested in home decoration. I always want the home to be perfect, elegant and luxurious. I feel architecture my field. And all my family are engineeers.
I am the owner of HOME AND GARDEN company and DECOR AND MORE company. I do design and fit out work for villas, palaces, hotels and luxury shops. The interior, exterior and landscape.
You are very active on the socia media and you call yourself influencer. Why do you think is important to let people know about what you do ?
Social media influencers can serve as positive role models for youth, encouraging them to follow their passions, aim high and lead healthy, happy lives. Numerous influencers disseminate relatable and genuine information that connects with youth and inspires them to follow their dreams. This kind of things is what I say to my friends and my followers.
- Tell us someting about the characteristics of the architecture in Doha : the way this impressive city is being shaped, the new trends and what you think is coming next.
Architecture in Qatar combines the modernity of geometric shapes with the identity of traditional designs. Buildings in Qatar are inspired by traditional motifs, ranging from high-rise towers to cultural, religious and educational institutions and sports venues, each of which tells a story. And Qatar always is on a trend and upgrades.
- What is the situation of women in Qatar ? Do they have leading positions or decision-making posts ?
Qatari women occupy 30 percent in decision-making positions, while over 52 percent of them hold specialized positions.
- What would you say to someone who’s never been in Qatar and want to go there. How would you describe the country and what do you think are its main attractions ?
Qatar is one of the most fascinating and beautiful places you can visit nowadays. For those of you who never visited the Middle East and are wondering what or where is Qatar, I can tell you that it is a Middle East Arabic country on the shore of the Persian Gulf best known for its vast infrastructure, fascinating culture, varying landscapes and its futuristic sky-scraping capital, Doha. Qatar has been on the world’s radar as one of the wealthiest countries in the world and for being the host of Fifa World Cup 2022. Qatar is also named the world’s safest country making it one of the world’s best travel destinations.
Qatar is the perfect blend of modernity and tradition, along with some of the world’s best adventure and picturesque sites.
Get inspired. Learn about culture and arts in Qatar and don’t hesitate to visit its main attractions such as the Qatar National Museum inspired by the natural crystal formations that it recreates through its dazzling design and is known as the Desert Rose.
Also the world-famous Museum of Islamic Art, the main jewel of Qatar´s museums.
Last but not least, you can visit the outdoor theatre spread over an area of 3,275 square metres. This classical Greek-style theatre reflects Islamic influences, particularly in its arched doorways. It accommodates up to 5,000 viewers and features wonderful views of the sea on one side and the cultural district on the other.
